MIDSAYAP – A newly proclaimed Barangay Kagawad was fatally shot and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The incident occurred today, November 1, 2023, near the Barangay Hall in Poblacion 3, Midsayap, Cotabato.
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Suharto Antillino, a married individual who had recently won the Barangay Kagawad election in Poblacion 3, Midsayap.
According to initial investigations, the victim was on his way home when he was approached by two unidentified men on a motorcycle. The suspects engaged the victim in a conversation, during which they uttered the phrase “DA KA MANNPEGKUMAN INSAN,” roughly translating to “HUWAG KANG GANYAN INSAN” in Tagalog (Don’t act that way, my friend).
Subsequently, the victim was shot in the head by one of the assailants. The local authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
