KIDAPAWAN CITY – Acting provincial governor Board Member Onofre Respicio ordered the suspension of office work in all departments at the capitol grounds here after a series of aftershocks rocked the province since 8 a.m. Wednesday.

“No clients or visitors shall be entertained,” said Respicio, who was named as officer-in-charge by Governor Nancy Catamco who is on official leave.

Respicio also directed all provincial department heads to remain in the vicinity of the capitol since all are members of Quick Response Action Team.

He added that work suspension does not apply to all provincial hospital personnel.

The provincial engineering office and the provincial disaster risk reduction and management council are currently conducting damage assessment on all structures within the provincial capitol grounds.

In Kidapawan City, Mayor Joseph Evangelista has also ordered the suspension of office work at the 3-story Kidapawan City hall after cracks were discovered in the building following the earthquake.

Officials said damage assessment is going on at the city hall and all public and private buildings in the city and the province. -PNA
