OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan thanked First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for donating a LAB for ALL mobile medical and clinical laboratory truck to the agency, which will benefit OFWs and their families, at the ceremonial turnover of the mobile clinic in Pasay City on Thursday.

In addition to the mobile clinic, OWWA has launched the Alagang OWWA Botika as part of the YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program).
“This would help many of our countrymen because we will register it under the YAKAP program of PhilHealth which means free services for our countrymen and at the same time it is sustainable because it is not from OWWA, PhilHealth will bear our expenses for our OFWs),” according to her.
“This will benefit many of our countrymen because we would register it under PhilHealth’s YAKAP program, which implies free services for our countrymen while also being sustainable because it is not from OWWA; PhilHealth will cover our expenses for our OFWs),” she noted.
Caunan stated that the mobile clinic is outfitted with X-ray, ultrasound, and laboratory capabilities.
The program will give free consultations and diagnostic services to active OWWA members and their dependents only, beginning with weekly operations at the program’s headquarters in Pasay City.
Additionally, OWWA signed a memorandum of arrangement with VidaCure, an accredited partner of the YAKAP at GAMOT Program under PhilHealth, to construct the Alagang OWWA Botika.
Active OWWA members and their families will gain immediate access to crucial medicines as a result of the agreement.
The first rollout of the Alagang OWWA Botika will begin on September 29 at the OWWA Central Office, with the mobile clinic operating once a week.
Along with expanding the previous Konsulta Program to provide free or subsidized consultations, laboratory and cancer screening tests, and other essential health services to active OWWA members and their families, the agreement also includes an improved primary care package.
The mobile clinic will initially service Metro Manila before extending to regional OWWA offices, while the Alagang OWWA Botika is planned to go national in the following months.
