Philippines names new envoys to UN and 4 countries

DAVAO CITY — The Philippine government has named five diplomats to serve as ambassadors of the country to the United Nations (UN) and four other countries.

The Palace released the names on Monday after their appointments were formalized last Thursday.

MalacaƱang named Carlos Sorreta, as the country;s permanent representative to the UN. Soreta previous assigned as Philippine ambassador to Russia.

The following diplomats wwre also named :

Maria Angela Ponce envoy to Malaysia

Josel Ignacio ambassador to India and Nepal.

Renato Pedro Villa ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with concurrent jurisdiction over Yemen in the Middle East and;

Paul Raymund Cortes is the new ambassdor to the European Country and at the same time he will also serve as the country’s envoy to the African republics of Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe, and Angola, he will be stationed in Portugal
