Sara reminds public on ‘stay at home’ rule

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte ordered all members of the Armed Forces and the Philippine National Police to ensure that the community quarantine is strictly implemented.

Duterte is chairperson of the Davao Region Covid-19 Task Force, issued Order No. 2020-004 on the prohibition and exemption on the movement of persons within the Davao Region.

The order said that in cases were sustained local transmission of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has been validated, the “stay at home” rule should be strictly followed by the public.

It further stated that law enforcements units manning the checkpoints within and between local government units in Davao Region should observe the following

Ensure that the community quarantine is strictly implemented.

  • Ensure that the community quarantine is strictly implemented.
  • Travel shall only be allowed for the following:
    • Individuals who go to and from work;
    • Individuals who will buy food or medicines;
    • Individuals who are going to the hospital or in an emergency.

On March 17, 2020, Duterte orders the closing of all entry points of Davao Region in an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease. (MCV)
