Strong 7.6 magnitude earthquake strikes off Davao Oriental

DAVAO CITY (October 10) – A powerful magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck off the coast of Manay, Davao Oriental on Thursday morning, October 10, 2025, according to Earthquake Information No. 1 released by authorities.

The quake occurred at 09:43 AM with a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located at 07.09°N, 127.09°E, approximately 62 km south 77° east of Manay, Davao Oriental.

The earthquake was tectonic in origin. As of this report, there are no immediate reports of damage or casualties, and monitoring for possible aftershocks and tsunami advisories is ongoing.

Residents in nearby areas, including Davao City and other parts of Mindanao, reportedly felt strong shaking. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and to follow official advisories from PHIVOLCS and local disaster risk reduction offices.
