DAVAO CITY — The city government of Tagum is now preparing for the much-awaited P82-billion  Mindanao Railway Project which is set to take off in the second quarter of 2021.

The project when completed, according to Tagum City Mayor Allan L. Rellon, will shorten the travel time among key cities and provinces in Mindanao, “It will cut-across boundaries from Cagayan de Oro City to Tagum City but we are more of the Davao-Tagum section and we are preparing the technical and human resources needed for the project”.

For this, LGU-Tagum is at full throttle to complete the pre-construction phase of the project which includes land development, land acquisition, and transfer of title among others, since the construction will commence in Tagum by next year.

Pegged at Php 82-Billion, the Phase 1 of this Mindanao Railway Project is stretched covering Tagum, Carmen, Panabo, Mudiang, Magtood, Toril, Sta. Cruz, and Digos City.

Hype-worthy as it is, the Tagum City Train Station which will showcase modern structural designs is set to be erected at a 3-hectare land in Mankilam in addition to the 10-hectare land to be used as the project depot.-Newsline.ph
