Davao City – A 16-year-old student involved in the physical assault of a 13-year-old student, an incident that was caught on video and went viral on social media, has surrendered to local authorities.

The teenager initially turned himself into the purok leader and a barangay councilor before being handed over to Barangay Captain Pacito Cañete Jr. He was then presented to other barangay officials and teachers for further discussion on the incident.

Following this, the suspect was placed under the custody of Maa Police Station 18 for investigation. Authorities confirmed that he will be referred to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) for the appropriate intervention and legal proceedings.
