With the aim to provide assistance as schools inch closer to reopening, AboitizPower subsidiary Therma Mobile, Inc. (TMO) in partnership with Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (AFI) and the Navotas City Government recently turned over a motorpool facility and 26 handwashing stations to the Navotas Vocational Training and Assessment (NAVOTAAS) Institute and Navotas elementary schools, respectively.
The students of NAVOTAAS can use the motorpool to perform maintenance checks and conduct simple repairs on motor vehicles. It can also help provide them with an additional source of income given the potential market for motor pool services, considering its prime location, as shared by Rolando V. Dela Torre, director of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela (TESDA CAMANaVA).
Meanwhile, the handwashing stations will be distributed to various elementary schools in Navotas.

“The handwashing stations will be a great help since the City of Navotas has already started going back to face-to-face classes, and having handwashing stations in the different schools is essential to ensure the safety of the students,” says Dr. Alejandro G. Ibañez, Department of Education Navotas City Schools Division Superintendent.
President and COO of the AboitizPower Oil Business Unit Ronaldo S. Ramos emphasized the continued commitment to help strengthen their host communities as they recover from the pandemic.
“In our 10 years in the Fish Port area, we have already done various projects. At the onset of the health crisis, our projects shifted to support the City Government of Navotas in the pandemic response. In the transition to a better normal, these two projects will be able to help in our continuous rise after the pandemic,” he said.
These back-to-back turnovers exemplify the commitment of the Aboitiz Foundation and TMO in staying true to their promise of advancing business and communities.
