Thousands of devotees pay homage to Holy Infant Jesus of Praque in Davao City

DAVAO CITY — Thousands of devotees of the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague flocked to Shrine Hills today to pay respect to the Holy Child in celebration of its 56th anniversary.

The Davao City Police Office reported, people from all walks of life coming from different provinces came to celebrate the occasion and some came as early as 4:00 in the morning.

People come and go, according to Clark Ancahas, the team leader of the group that was deployed inside the Shrine compound, “They come and then after a while they go but thousands have visited since this morning.”

People carrying different images of the Holy Child came and attended the mass.

Many visited the place to thank Him for healing their illness, listening to their prayers, among others.

Leticia Lopez, who will turn 80 this February said, she badly fell from the stairs “I was ill, I didn’t have enough to fend for the hospital bill, I endured back home, I prayed to him to heal me and I was healed,. Since then, It has been my life to visit here every January 15 and every Holy Week to thank Him for listening to all my prayers.”

Theresa, 35, said the Holy Child has been part of her life since childhood and He helper her pass the professional board exam, she is now a doctor “I kept Praying for Him to help me in all the challenges I went through and before I took the board exam, I asked Him to guide me. Indeed, He heard me. I am so thankful.”

Fr. Orly Angelia D.D, spiritual director of the Archdiocese Family life Apostolate said “The more you honor Him, thge more He will Bless your life because he lives with us, he feels us and He listens to us.”

“He hears our pain, our predicament because he is human and is with us,” he added.

The city police implemented a one entrance and one entry procedure which led to the peaceful celebration.
