Two killed, one wounded in Basilan shooting

BASILAN CITY, Philippines — Two persons were killed in Sitio Logeng, Brgy. Baungis , Lantawan, here,  early morning Saturday March 24, 2018

Police Senior Inspector Nurhaib Bungkac, Municipal Police Chief of Lantawan , identified the victims as Lito Avila , 40, married and resident of Brgy. La Esperanza ,Rizal , Zamboanga Del Norte and Mujan Ajulun , 35, resident of Baungis Lantawan Basilan.

Only  Rolly Mijos Calasang, 41 resident of Brgy. San Roque, Rizal , Zamboanga del Norte survived the attack, he is now  confined at Bascom Hospital in Lantawan.

Bungkac said they received a call from barangay Captain Ajung Salim of Baungis at about 3:00 am of March 24, 2018, informing them of a shooting which  incident transpired at Sitio Logeng,  Brgy. Baungis.

The victims are  chainsaw operators working at the coconut farm owned by Salim.

Bungkac said they are still conducting a thorough investigation to identify the suspects and the determine the motive behind the shooting.-Richard G. Falcatan/Newsline.ph
