Vietnam donates 8,000 sacks of rice for Marawi IDPs

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The government of Vietnam has donated 200 metric tons or 8,000 sacks  of rice to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Marawi City.

Vietnamese Ambassador Ly Quoc Tuan handed over the donation to DSWD Undersecretary Luzviminda Ilagan in Dalipuga, Iligan City on April 5.

The Vietnamese government sent 8,000 sacks of rice weighting 25 kilos each.

Ilagan in a facebook post on April 5, 2018 stated “From the Govt of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam – Ceremonial Turnover of 8000 bags of rice donation to the Philippine Govt thru the DSWD for the displaced people of Marawi. Thank you Ambassador Ly Quoc Tuan!”

Ilagan  thanked the government of Vietnam for the donation saying it will greatly help the IDPs of Marawi.

She said the rice is presently stored in DSWD Iigan  City warehouse but the same will be turned over to the city government of Marawi for distribution.-ezc/Newsline.ph
