DAVAO CITY —  At least 25 foreign nationals were barred from entering the country by the Bureau of Immigration due to dubious records and suspicious intentions to enter the country.

The Immigration Bureau said the foreigners were barred entry at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Sixteen Vietnamese nationals who are suspected illegal online gaming hubs’ recruits arrived from Ho Chi Minh City on a Cebu Pacific flight on April 25.

The primary inspectors said the foreigners did not know what places they would be visiting.

“These foreign nationals have all the complete documents needed as they are pretending to be regular tourists,” the BI said in a statement on Saturday.

On the same day, five Chinese males were likewise prevented entry as they were unable to justify their stay in the Philippines.

The five landed at Terminal 1 in Parañaque City from Quanzhou City via Xiamen Air.

The following day, three female Vietnamese and a Chinese man who came from Hanoi were similarly denied entry for suspicious purposes.
