MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, Philippines – In a heartwarming ceremony, Governor Henry Oaminal celebrated the extraordinary achievements of young athlete Benerando O. Basan, who recently made his province proud by winning three gold medals at the Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) Meet.
Recognizing Basan’s exceptional talent and dedication, Governor Oaminal awarded him a ₱150,000 cash prize, a brand-new home, and a promise of free education up to college.
Basan, a 15-year-old high school student from Tangub City, has become a symbol of hope and inspiration for many. Competing in track and field events, he clinched gold medals in the 100-meter sprint, 200-meter sprint, and long jump, outperforming athletes from across Northern Mindanao.
