Davao Police seize over 4 kilos of Marijuana in drug bust operation

DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police confiscated marijuana worth Php 586,6800 in a joint buy-bust operation with the Drug Enforcement Unit of PRO-XI, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), and San Pedro Police Station 2, in Purok 2, Bolton Extension, Barangay 40-D, Davao City, around 7:00 p.m. on November 7, 2024.

According to Acting Davao City Police Director Colonel Hansel Marantan, the operation led to the rescue of a 17-year-old suspect, a resident of Barangay 76-A, along with his 18-year-old partner.

The operation began with an initial purchase of PHP 6,240 worth of dried marijuana wrapped in plastic, after which the police discovered and confiscated additional packs of the suspected marijuana, bringing the total estimated street value to PHP 586,680. The seized marijuana weighed approximately 4.889 kilograms.

The primary suspect, known by the alias “Bai,” is reportedly listed as the second most-wanted drug personality in Region XI.

An inventory of the evidence was conducted at the scene following the apprehension of the suspects.
