DAVAO CITY — The provincial government of Davao de Oro has established one of the most important places at the evacuation center, the Child-Friendly Space (CFS)

Governor Dorothy M. Gonzaga and Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Gatchalian along with other agencies visited the Child Friendly Space (CFS) yesterday to see the area where the Protection Cluster of the province manages.

Eden, a seven-year-old evacuee said “Malingaw na man mi diri kay naa mi kadula nga mga bata, wala pa man mi balay (We are having fun here because we have playmates, we don’t have a house).

The children at the center are from Zone 1, Barangay Masara, the ground zero of the February 6 landslide.

The children are given psychosocial support through the different activities that are conducted by Social Workers.

The social workers provide support for the children to relieve the sad feeling or trauma experienced especially by those who lost a parent in the Masara tragedy.

The search and retrieval operations are still ongoing.

As of presstime, 55 cadavers have been retrieved.
