CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy led the groundbreaking and capsule laying ceremony for the city’s first Mega Health Center in Sitio Macanhan, Barangay Carmen.

This ambitious project, with a budget of 65 million pesos funded by the local government, aims to provide state-of-the-art healthcare services to the people of the city.

Mayor Uy expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of the 20th Council and City Hall officials, which has enabled the realization of the Mega Health Center’s construction. He urged the City Engineering Office and the contractors to commence construction this week, with the aim of opening the facility next year, prior to the Barangay Carmen Fiesta in July 2024.

The two-story Mega Health Center, expected to take nine months to complete, will offer a wide array of services, including a pharmacy, birthing or delivery room, dental clinic, hemodialysis stations, dialysis and mini-operating rooms, consultation areas, microbiology and water treatment laboratories, a centralized air conditioning system, and more.

It is anticipated that the facility will receive accreditation from the Department of Health as a Level 1 category infirmary, which will also be accredited by PhilHealth.

Residents of Sitio Macanhan, along with other local government officials, attended the groundbreaking ceremony, showing their strong support for this significant project.
