ILIGAN – In a move towards improved digital accessibility, Iligan City has implemented free wifi services in the main lobbies of the North and South Wings of the terminal, providing residents and visitors with a convenient wireless link.

Zoe Castro, Head of the Information and Communications Technology Center (ICTC) in LGU-Iligan, disclosed that the wifi connection in the main lobby operates round the clock. However, users are limited to a two-hour timeframe to ensure fair and equal access to the connection.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology in Iligan City delivers a speed of up to 400 Mbps (megabits per second). This service is available in various locations with free public wifi, including the Anahaw Amphitheater, the City Hall Main Building lobby, the Children’s Park, Food Stall Area in the City Hall complex, the City Hospital lobby, the City Public Plaza, and the main lobby of the Tambo Terminal.

“We have to be connected; this is a step closer. Everybody should be connected. This digitalization effort by the government and Mayor Frederick Siao is very supportive. This is just one of the projects of digitalization,” Castro added.

Additional locations for free public wifi will be identified in other parts of Iligan as part of the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s “Free Wifi for All Project.”
