Magnitude 5.7 earthquake jolts Surigao del Sur

DAVAO CITY — A magnitude 5.7 earthquakes shook Surigao del Sur with the epicenter in Hinatuan town

The  Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that the movement took place at 8:31 Wednesday evening with a Depth of 010 km in Hinatuan town.

The earthquake was also felt at Intensity V – City of Bislig, Surigao del Sur and Intensity III – Cagwait town.

It is reported to be an aftershock of the 2023 December 2 Mw7.4 Offshore Surigao del Sur earthquake event.
