Minor allegedly abused by father, seeks help from police, then gets abused by cop

June 21, 2023 by NewsLine Philippines

DAVAO OCCIDENTAL – A young boy approached the Detachment of the 3rd Platoon police in Sitio Pamungot, Barangay Talaguton, Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental on June 18, at 7:00 PM, seeking help as he claimed to have been physically abused by his father.

However, instead of providing assistance, the police officer allegedly poured vinegar with chili peppers on the 16-year-old boy’s body.

According to the minor, the police officer extinguished the light in the room and poured vinegar with chili peppers on his body.

In a video, the minor narrated that he approached the detachment seeking help but was maltreated.

The police allegedly instructed the boy to lie and not disclose the incident to his family.

“They told me that if I answer, I should not say that I was assaulted,” said the boy, crying in the video.

In an recent statement from the Davao Oriental Municipal Police Station, the police said they would identify the officer allegedly involced and will subject him to administrative and criminal charges.

“At this point in time, DMMPS is still in the process of identifying the involved police officer and after his identity will be established then a criminal and administrative case will surely be filed against him.”

According to a woman present in the video, the boy couldn’t sleep due to the burning sensation caused by the chili peppers and had to wash himself with water from the pump.

In the same statement, the Davao Occidental police informed the public that they will not tolerate such incidents and condemned the wrongful act. They assured the public that they will identify the perpetrator and file appropriate charges against him.
