Paquibato police arest alleged NPA commander with multiple cases

Ā DAVAO CITY – Police on Sunday arrested Larry Cabunilas, a suspected commander of the New People’s Army (NPA), also known as “Ka Larry,” who faces multiple charges including murder, homicide, arson, and grave threats.

Major Janus Macli-ing, station chief of Paquibato identified the suspect as Cabunilas, a resident of Paquibato District, Davao City, has an outstanding warrant of arrest.

Davao Police Director COlonel Hansel Marantan said Cabunilas, several other individuals—including NPA commanders Jingoy CaƱete, Ka Roy, alias Potot Entera, alias Omel Pagatpat, and Samuel Rojas—are also facing charges and have outstanding arrest warrants for arson.

 During the operation to serve the arrest warrant, authorities recovered a pistol and ammunition, a grenade, and a revolver from the accused.

Cabunilas is currently detained at Paquibato Police Station 7 pending further action.
