Right-of-way  problem delays P585-M bypass road in Bukidnon

DAVAO CITY (November 15) The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Tuesday  sounded off the delay in the P585-million bypass roads in the cities of  Malaybalay, and Valencia Bukidnon due to road-right-of-way problems.

Explaining the delay before the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan,   during the regular session on Tuesday, Engr. Florentino Macarayog Jr., project engineer of DPWH in Region 10 said the project which is due for completion this year “will not be finished because of the right-of-way problem”, instead it will be completed in July next year.

The provincial board called on the DPWH  to explain the delay in the completion of the 13-kilometer bypass road with two bridges in Valencia City, and the 18.4-km. bypass road in Dalwangan-San Jose.

The project kicked off in 2015 and supposedly completed this year.

Macarayog claimed  the Manlingon Bridge has been completed while the Panlibatuhan Bridge remains unfinished.

The DPWH has yet to finish the 700 meters stretch because the three private lot owners insisted to be paid first.

The government has opted expropriate the property, which is still being worked out  and  Negotiation is in progress because the  project traverse a private properly.

Right-of-way problem has been the cause of delays  in many parts of the country,  the government cannot provide immediate payment for the affected properties.-NewsLine with PNA report
