DAVAO CITY — A public school principal from Panabo City in Davao del Norte went viral on social media pages after a video showing him holding a scissor scolding a delivery rider and almost stabbing him for delivering a wrong item to their house last weekend.
In a video uploaded by Tagumenyo Diciplinado 2.0 page, Celestino Revamonte Jr. the school principal of Narciso Galapin Elementary School was topless and was so mad as he demanded the delivery rider to refund the money because the item delivered to his wife was not the item she ordered he placed online.
The delivery rider explained that his mission was just to deliver the goods and he is not privy to the order and that in case of wrong wrong item delivery they need to contact the seller but instead of listening to the rider’s suggestion, Revamonte lost his cool.
In the video, Revamonte was shouting on top of his voice as he ordered the hapless rider to return the P300.00 immediately or else he will stab him.
(Ingnan taka i-uli ang kuarta, dunggabon taka ron *I told you return the money, I will stab you) and he went out of the gate and confronted the rider as he shouted “Kuarta! Kuarta ihatag,” (Money, money, give it), the rider was forced to return the P300 of the couple.
Raul Gacus, administrative officer V and spokesperson of Department of Education Panabo City in an interview with Newsline said they will conduct an investigation between Revamonte and the rider.
“We reached the side of Mr. Revamonte and actually, he disclosed na after the incident, there was already a settlement between the concerned. In our office, we will still continue to investigate, the process of investigation. First, we will seek first the authority from disciplining authority.
Conduct fact-finding and maybe by tomorrow or the next day we will come up with the initial result and we will submit that back to the disciplining authority which is the superintendent.”
Based on what Gacus witnessed on video, “It happened from the beginning there was a tendency that there was deceit on the part of the delivery. There was something like a scam or whatsoever, at the height of anger. I think that was . . . Mr. Revamonte was not in a state of being at that time . . . because he was carried away by his emotion, it was under the circumstance of indiscretion . . . “
The DepEd Panabo said, ”If there is probable cause we will continue filing the violation of Sir Revamonte being the public official.”
Revamonte is also an accredited international boxing referee.
Gacus said, “Actually he is a good man.”
We tried to reach the rider thru his “Facebook messenger, but as of press time, he did not reply.-Editha Z. Caduaya
