Service disruptions on March 15 in Downtown, Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. will conduct two power interruptions on March 15, Wednesday, affecting customers in the downtown area of Davao City.

The first power interruption will be for 30-minutes, anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. This service disruption will be necessary for the normalization of loads after the erection of the 138kV pole and line stringing near Bajada Flyover.

Specifically affected are customers along JP Laurel Avenue, from Davao Light Substation to Bajada Flyover, and neighboring areas.

Also affected are customers along Buhangin-Lapanday Road from Bajada Flyover to Orange Grove Hotel, including Ladislawa Village, San Pedro Village, Camella Northpoint, Spring Valley, Sandawa Village, Pag-asa Homes, and neighboring areas.

Customers along Mamay Road from Comus Grill to Crossing Daang Maharlika Highway, and neighboring areas; as well as those along Daang Maharlika Highway from Crossing Mamay Road to Orange Grove Hotel and neighboring areas will also be affected by this service disruption.

Meanwhile, the second power interruption will be for 15 minutes, anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. This service disruption will be necessary to conduct normalization of loads connected to Ponciano Reyes Substation after its emergency isolation.

Specifically affected are customers in Arellano Extension near Central Bank, Mt. Apo Street up to Davao Doctors Hospital, part of Gen. Luna up to Limso Hospital, Part of Mabini St. up to Circumferential Rd. up to Brokenshire Hospital, DCWD warehouse (F. Selga St.); including Mother Ignacia Village, Ipil-Ipil Alley at Madapo Hills, Davao Doctors Hospital, Brokenshire Hospital, Limso Hospital, Central Bank and its neighboring areas.

Also affected are customers along Circumferential Road up to Bacaca Road Junction, including DMSF Hospital and its neighboring areas; as well as a portion of JP Laurel Avenue from Bacaca Road Junction to Davao Light-Bajada Covered Court, and its neighboring areas.

Lastly, customers along Guzman Street, from San Pedro Hospital to Holy Cross of Davao College, including San Pedro Hospital and its neighboring areas will also be affected by this service disruption.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
