KIDAPAWAN CITY – As part of the three-day Summer Kids Peace Camp (SKPC) organized by Cotabato Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza, valuable information was shared to help shape the skills and abilities of the participating children in camping.

Representatives from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), together with the Arakan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), explained safety measures to be taken during disasters and emergencies such as fires, earthquakes, landslides, floods, and more.

The Philippine Army representatives from the 72nd Infantry (Gabay) Battalion also conducted a discussion on the importance of peace in the community and the responsibility of soldiers in maintaining it. The youth were engaged by the squad static and kinetic display exhibition presented by the soldiers from the battalion.

Furthermore, the 1,255 campers enjoyed the experience of taking a simultaneous bath through the “boom shower” provided by the BFP after a zumba dance exercise.

As a representative of Governor Mendoza, 3rd District Representative Ma. Alana Samantha Taliño Santos personally conveyed her greetings to the campers, who were fortunate to be part of the SKPC’s return this year.

Cong. Santos emphasized that despite cultural, religious, and belief differences, our common aspiration remains the same – peace in our community, which can only be achieved through unity.
