Switching power interruptions on September 20, 21, and 22, in different parts of Davao City

DAVAO CITY (September 18) – Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, September 20, 21, and 22, in different parts of Davao City.

The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate repairs at Ecoland Substation. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22.

Specifically affected are those from Pichon Street from Wisons Shopping Center up to Colasas BBQ including SP Building, City Hall, Bolton Extension, and nearby areas; from Juna Subdivision up to Bolton Bridge; Acacia Street up to Ateneo Grade School, and nearby areas.

The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to conduct pole relocation along portions of Tugbok. The loads from the affected lines will be transferred for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 21. Meanwhile, the return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on the same day.

Customers from Purok 13 crossing quarry Tugbok, near Angalan Bridge 1 to Petrofill Gas Station, Purok 13 crossing quarry Tugbok, will be affected by these service disruptions.

To facilitate the necessary works, a 9-hour power interruption will also be conducted from 12:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on the same day, affecting customers from Petrofill Gas Station, Purok 13 crossing quarry Tugbok to Wella Metal Corporation, Km. 21, Los Amigos, Tugbok.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
