DAVAO CITY— Operatives of the anti-narcotics group of the Bangsamoro government arrested a drug den operator who is a teacher and two others in a joint operation in the 32-hectare capitol of Cotabato City last Saturday afternoon.
The 63-year-old drug den operator was identified by the police as Wajid Ibrahim Galib, a teacher, and his two companions, John Lloyd Fernandez Compaña, 23, and 25-year-old Ridzwan Ismael Abdulgani.
According to the authorities, Compaña has been imprisoned twice because of a case related to illegal drugs.
The operation was conducted by virtue of the arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 13 against Compaña, which resulted to his arrest and his two companions.
Authorities seized 11 small cellophanes of suspected shabu and illegal drug paraphernalia.
The barangay officials said that Galib, Compaña and Abdulgani actually used their position as a drug den and held a session there as well.
Their drug den is right inside the Bangsamoro capitol and an old Mosque. It was discovered by PDEA-BARMM agents and members of the Bangsamoro Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force, or BAIDTF, which is composed of various regional agencies under the office of the regional prime minister, Ahod Balawag Ebrahim.
The warrant for Compaña’s arrest was served to him by BAIDTF representatives and PDEA-BARMM agents, led by its regional director, Gil Cesario Castro. The operation is comprised of the National Bureau of Investigation, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region and a police mobile company under the regional police director of BARMM, Brig. gen. Allan Nobleza.
The three are now in the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
