DAVAO CITY –— A police officer from Trento town in Agusan del Sur voluntarily shared her breastmilk to a month-old baby on Tuesday, who had been crying due to hunger.

Police Staff Sergeant Queenily L. Obongen, is assigned to Women and Children’s Desk (WCD) at her precinct, has a four-month-old baby back home.

While on duty, she heard the continues cry of a baby at a nearby office which prompted her to investigate what was wrong.

She learned that the baby’s mother was queueing to secure her police clearance, and worse, the baby’s bottled milk was left at their residence.

Without further question, Obongen breastfed the baby.

“I was sharing my milk because I know the baby was very hungry, at first, I was apprehensive because the mother told me baby has been bottle-fed since birth and it was his first time to consume breastmilk, but the baby enjoyed my milk.”

Obongen in an inteview said, as a mother she won’t hesistate to share her milk to a baby or a child as she hopes that other lactating mother share their milk to baby’s in need at a given time.
