Davao Coastal Road off for pessenger vehicles

DAVAO CITY – The newly opened Davao City Coastal Road is off for passenger vehicles, this was the warning of the City Traffic and Transportation Management Office (CTTMO).

Personnel from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) are also deployed to ensure that the road is off for passenger vehicles.

The city traffic management office has warned public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers not to use the alternate road to cut trips.

Dionesio Abude, the CTTMO chief told reporters that personnel from his offie are deployed in the bypass road to prevent public utility transport from assing the area since it is designed for private vehicles to ease teh traffic ongestions in the main throroughfares.

The seven-kilometer segment bypass road was officially opened by no less than President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Saturday July 1.

The road serves as the alternate route to the city business district from Bago Aplaya to Tulip Drive.

Abude said jeepneys and buses will be apprehended for trip-cutting if they use the route and tickets will be issued and the operators will be dealth accordingly by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Included in the warning are tricycles who ferry passengers to the coastal road.

Skating is prohibited in the area.

Bikers can use the lane designated for them and sidewalks for jogging,” Abude told reporters.
