MANILA  (March 2)  — A Makati court has ordered the sweeping preservation of assets linked to Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy, barring any movement or disposal of properties while civil forfeiture proceedings move forward.

In a 12-page Asset Preservation Order, Branch 147 of the Makati Regional Trial Court directed banks and government agencies to hold:

  • 12 bank accounts
  • 37 real estate properties
  • 25 vehicles, including two firetrucks and a fuel tanker
  • One Cessna aircraft

The order covers assets linked not only to Quiboloy but also to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ and its executive pastor.

Court: Risk of assets being hidden

In its ruling, the court noted that Quiboloy and KOJC failed to sufficiently demonstrate that the assets were acquired through legitimate sources — a key requirement in contesting forfeiture proceedings.

An asset preservation order does not automatically transfer ownership to the government but ensures properties remain intact and under monitoring until the case is resolved.

What happens next?

The freeze sets the stage for full civil forfeiture hearings, where the government must prove that the assets are linked to unlawful activity. If successful, the properties could be permanently forfeited in favor of the state.
