DAVAO CITY — In an effort to provide access to all indigent patients needing dialysis services, Misamis Occidental Governor Henry Oaminal to provide a dialysis center.
Meeting the medical practitioners and hospital heads on a weekend, Oaminal emphasized the need to strengthen the health care services of the province, making accessible to every patient.
“There is truly no reason to say that there are no medicines available because this week, five dump trucks arrived from Manila loaded with our medicine supply,’’ he told the health professionals.
With the bulk of medicines, the Governor sees no reason that the province will run short of medical supplies, he asked the health workers “People of Misamis should not be burdened in getting medicines and medical supplies, serve them well, it is our responsibility.”
Oaminal made the bold move in his province as pertussis and measles has been prevalent in other areas of the country.
“I want every Misamisnon to avail the best medical services, healthcare must be given to all government-run hospitals under the administration of the provincial government to provide dialysis centers.”
The hospital chiefs, according to Oaminal “Must focus on improving medicine and supply management and upgrade the facilities.”
To immediately respond to the needs of the people, the Governor, along with the officials from the Provincial General Services office to enhance and streamline the procurement and the issuance and replenishment of drugs, medicines, laboratory reagents, medical supplies, and the storage of medical oxygen.
The meeting was called by the governor, was attended by the chiefs of five government hospitals: Misamis Occidental Provincial Hospital (MOPH), Dona Maria D. Tan Memorial Hospital (DMDTMH), Tangub City Memorial Hospital (TMH), Jimenez Memorial Community Hospital (JMCH), and Calamba District Hospital (CDH).
