DAVAO CITY — Misamis Occidental Provincial Jail has recently embarked on a comprehensive religious and spiritual development program aimed at rehabilitating and empowering its inmates.
Governor Henry S. Oaminal initiated the program in collaboration with Misamis Occidental Provincial Reformatory Jail Warden Stephen Sean Daral.
Oaminal said the program is part of his administration’s 5-point reformation plan that takes a holistic approach to the well-being of prisoners.
As part program, the jail has introduced a series of religious activities, including catechism, recollection, and the sacrament of confession.
These practices are intended to provide inmates with a pathway towards redemption and personal growth by encouraging them to reflect on their past actions and seek forgiveness.
Under the guidance of Governor Oaminal, the Misamis Occidental Provincial Jail is not simply a place of physical confinement but a center for spiritual and moral reflection. By incorporating these religious practices into its program, the jail recognizes the importance of addressing the spiritual needs of prisoners and the role that faith can play in their rehabilitation.
Overall, the inclusion of catechism, recollection, and confession in the jail’s program underscores a deep commitment to fostering personal growth, moral reflection, and ultimately, the reformation of individuals within the correctional system.
