DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The Office of the Ombudsman Mindanao is asking Ateneo de Davao University to file a complaint against Commissionon Elections (Comelec) Regional Director Remlane Tambuang and made him accountable over his acts.
Deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao Rodolfo Elman told Newsline.ph, “I encourage the university to file a complaint before our office or the Department of Justice.”
Elman said “If the reports are true and if the narrative of the complainant shows Director Tambuang indeed, uttered those words and threatened the professor, then, he should be held accountable as public official and as a member of the legal profession.”
Tambuang in an interview with Jun Bersamin over dxAB/ABS-CBN Friday morning vehemently denied threatening anyone.

The acts, “if true”, according to Elman, “sends a bad signal to the society. It was a conduct unbecoming of a public official. He should be held accountable over his acts.”
Elman also encourage persons who were previously victimized by Tambuang to file an administrative complaint. “They can still file administrative complaint because it has no prescription as to the time the crime was committed,” he added.

In a police blotter at Sta. Ana Police, the ADDU Emergency Operations Center filed an incident report Tuesday afternoon.
Fr. Joel Tabora S.J. the university president, in a strongly worded statement said “When a parent accompanied by relatives and body guards comes in brandishing statements like “WE ARE A FAMILY OF LAWYERS AND KILLERS!” or “WE CAN TAKE DOWN THIS SCHOOL” — these are statements the ADDU as a University can only take very seriously as they threaten the safety and security of its personnel.”
