SoCot Guv investigates engineering employees selling siphoned government fuel

DAVAO CITY — South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. ordered a full dress investigation on the alleged siphoning fuel from provincial engineering office and sell the same to their cohorts.

The report published by Philippine News Agency stated that Tamayo the ‘fuel deal’ scheme involves some government employees.

Tamayo said one of his trusted personnel witnessed the ‘fuel deal’ involving six containers of fuel which took place in Norallah town.

Tamayo said the practice has been going on for years but was uncovered only last Thursday, August 15.

The governor did not identify the personnel involved but said “For the involved job order workers, you will be dismissed outright. For the regular, we will find an assignment for you in Ned.”

Barangay Ned in Lake Sebu town, one of the farthest village in the province.

Tamayo said the erring employees cannot deny the illegal activity as the provincial government has witnesses to prove their illegal activity.

The Governor wants to know the scheme, the faces behind and their buyers, saying he will not tolerate such illegal act.-NewsLine.ph
