Abayalde relieves Isulan PNP officials, Mayor suspends classes

DAVAO CITY (September 3) — Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Abayalde on Monday ordered the relief of Isulan town police chief and Sultan Kudarat provincial police official as another bomb exploded Sunday night,  just five days away from the first explosion.

At least two people were killed in the Sunday blast, while 15 others were injured.

On August 28, three  people were killed including a minor while 36 were injured when an improvised bomb exploded along   the highway in  Barangay Kalawag 3.

The town was celebrating its 61st Founding Anniversary and the 7th Hamungaya Festival.

Albayalde ordered the relief of Senior Supt. Noel Kinazo, provincial director of Sultan Kudarat, and Senior Supt. Celestino Daniel Jr., Isulan town chief of police, for failure to secure their areas of responsibility which resulted to the death of five persons and injured 51 others.

Isulan municipal police chief P/Supt Celestino Daniel was replaced by P/Supt Junny Buenacosa from Tacurong PNP.

The officers were relieved following the second bombing which took place Sunday night inside an internet cafe Internet café at the corner of Valencia and Valdez Streets, Barangay Kalawag 2, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat which killed two and injured 15.

Isulan Municipal Mayor Marites Pallasigue suspended the  classes in all levels in Isulan today September 3, it  will resume tomorrow September 4.

Pallasigue told NewsLine.ph “Gin-relieve na ang amon PNP PD kag ang municipal police chief si Supt. Buenacosa (Our PNP PD and our municipal police chief have been relieved, our new chief is Supt. Buenacosa).

Pallasigue appealed to her constituents  “I ask everyone to be vigilant, we are having a meeting now and we are assessing all the conditions.”

The Mayor met all the school officials earlier and everyone vowed to do their share to attain a peaceful ienvironment after the incidents.

“Budlay ini kay lima pa lang kaadlaw halin may nagbuto sadtong August 28, pero naga-miting kami subong kag may mga suspects na ang police (This is tough, five days after the August 28 bombing, but we are meeting now, the police have the suspects.

“We are saddened by the casualties brought about by this cowardly act perpetrated by people hell bent on their nefarious goals without regard for the lives of civilians,” the PNP also said in a statement.-ezc/NewsLine.ph
